About

Catherine (who uses her middle names Giovanna Smith as her business alias) has been making jewellery since she was in her early teens. What began as an interest in collecting beautiful stones and rocks has turned into a very nice creative endeavour.

Making gem bracelets and earrings developed over the years into making unique silver designs. As an engineer she’s enjoyed figuring out how to use all the multitude of tools as well.

Inspiration often comes from a love for travelling and fascination with all natural forms. Often the base material directs its own design outcome. This makes for some nice surprises when creating, while also keeping things simple to highlight the precious gems being held.

If you love organic creations which are great for any occasion then you’ve come to the right place.

Let Catherine know if you’re thinking of anything particular she’s always happy to do custom designs.

Memberships

A unique hallmark gives jewellery authenticity as all pieces requiring it are assayed at the London Assay Office. The full Traditional UK Hallmark consists of five components: a Sponsor’s mark, a Traditional fineness mark, a Millesimal fineness mark, an Assay Office mark and a date letter mark.

The Argentium Guild allows for the use of the Argentium hallmark which certifies the unique properties of this metal. It is a joy to work with and does make great designs when fusing. The main selling points of this alloy are that it is tarnish resistant and hypo-allergenic, which makes it great for those of us who have sensitive skin.
